This week we have the pleasure to chat with no others than Vito Leanza.
Vito has worked for Walt Disney World for over 25 years.
He has started as a tour guide on The Backstage Studio Tour, back at what was then Disney MGM Studios and then moved to Magic Kingdom.
Vito is an incredibly talented actor, dancer, singer, acrobat, puppeteer, costume maker…the list goes on and on.
Some of his many credits include Broadways shows (Addams Family, Pee Wee Herman On Broadway, Big Fish), national tours (Mary Poppins, Shrek The Musical, The Little Mermaid).
He’s also responsible for many of the costumes and props during The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade…and yup he was also walk on stilts!
He’s currently in Atlanta where he is one of the very talented artists restoring the original Muppets donated by the Jim Henson family to the Center for Puppetry Arts and many of those restorations are now on display in the new World of Jim Henson exhibit at the Worlds of Puppetry Museum.
I had the pleasure to direct Vito in a theater show here in NY in 2013 “Family of strangers” (written by John Pastore), and I feel very lucky to call him a friend.
He’s truly a magical person!
You can see Vito’s work on his official website Vito World Productions.
We also cover quite a bit of news coming out of Disney from the announcement of a new themed bar/lounge at Tower of Terror in Hollywood Studios.
To Ample Hills Creamery opening a bran new ice cream shop at Disney BoardWalk!
